Founded in 1987 by a Stanford Engineering graduate and Hewlett-Packard software engineer, American Business Software was launched with a series of advanced business and financial software applications that combined easy of use with high performance.
Back then, the standard for financial applications was DOS and a green CRT monitor. ABS was one of the first to develop its first financial system around the then new technology, Microsoft Windows, yielding major improvements in ease-of-use.
Later, in 1994, ABS was to lead again with the adoption of Microsoft SQL Server database, radically improving speed and capacity.
Similar moves to adopt open source technology in 2001 and cloud technology in 2008 have lead to lower costs, higher performance and easier use for ABS clients.
The combination of ease of use, high performance and lower cost is still the foundation for its current line of financial application software.
American Business Software is located in Albany, Oregon. ABS serves local government, special districts and private utilities nationwide. |
