Our Services and Function |
The District provides water, sewer, garbage, street lights and fire protection services for the unincorporated community of Laton. The District was formed in 1981. The Board of Supervisors for the County of Fresno adopted by Board Order on April 7, 1981, the formal organization of the `Laton Community Services District.` The District is the successor district to the Laton County Water District, Laton Fire Protection District and the Laton Lighting District.
The District`s present water system consists of groundwater wells, distribution pipelines, individual services, fire hydrants and appurtenances. The water supply is developed exclusively through the pumping of groundwater. The sewer system includes the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility and collection system.
The District is located in Fresno County between the cities of Hanford and Kingsburg.
The District boundaries are primarily located in the South half of Section 22, Township 17 South, Range 21 East, MDB&M. State Route 43 runs in a north-south direction and is located about three miles east of the community. The community is bounded by Murphy Slough to the east and north and the Kings River to the east and south. A quadrangle map of the community is shown on Figure III-1, and the District boundary is shown on Figure III-2. |

The following payment options are available for you to pay:
By phone: 559-923-4802 A convenience fee will be added for this form of payment. In the drop-box: This is located at the office`s front door at 20798 Fowler Avenue. We are currently accepting cash payments, checks, or money orders. Please make sure to include your payment stub or name and address in the envelope and seal the envelope. By mail: Send to P.O. Box 447, Laton, CA 93242. Online Payment: LCSD Website: http://latoncsd.com. Select `Online Payment` to enter the account number and payment amount. A convenience fee will be added for this form of payment.
Effective February 15, 2022, unpaid billing will result in a disconnection of your services for non-payment, and late fees/penalties associated with non-payment will be added to your account. The California Constitution limits the fees charged by LCSD to the LCSD`s costs for the services provided (the fees cannot generate a profit for LCSD). Payment of utility bills is necessary because the fees are needed to pay LCSD`s continuing costs of water, sewer, and garbage collection services. For this reason, LCSD will resume its standard collection policy, which includes discontinuing services for non-payment. If you cannot pay your outstanding LCSD utility bills and need to make payment arrangements, please call our office at 559-923-4802.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during such difficult times. It remains our top priority to continue providing essential water, sewer, and garbage collection services to Laton residents.

Due to a new law called The Water Shutoff Protection Act, SB 998 (Dodd), the State has mandated that all large water Districts in California update their policies regarding low-income customers or occupants who are delinquent on their water bills. The following is Resolution No. 2020-01 of the Laton Community Services District (LCSD) updated delinquency policy, which goes into effect on February 1, 2020. |
