Municipal Solid Waste Franchise Agreement |
|
The Laton Community Services District (LCSD) has contracted with Mid-Valley Disposal (MVD) for garbage collection services. This contract began in 2008 and is set to expire in 2032.On November 1, 2022, the LCSD and MVD entered into a Franchise Agreement for the collection, transportation, and disposal of solid waste, along with additional services.

Edible Food Recover Locations |
|
|
According to CalRecycle, 1 in 4 Californians don`t have enough to eat, with roughly 11.2 billion pounds of food going to landfills each year (some of which is still fresh enough to have been recovered). To reduce food waste and help address food insecurity, SB 1383 requires that by 2025, Californians recover 20% of edible food that would otherwise go to waste and redistribute it to feed people in need.
